Project Odyssey Season 2 cemented Civitai's position as the largest AI filmmaking competition in the world. The Season 2 cycle drew 4,500 submissions - 190 hours of film - from 2,000+ teams across 87 countries between Seasons 1 and 2 combined. The prize pool grew to $70,000+ in cash plus $750,000+ in tooling trials, distributed across eight categories: Narrative, Music Video, Marketing & Advertisement, Trailers, Rendering & VFX, Social Media, Open Format, and Behind-The-Scenes.
Each category awarded Gold / Silver / Bronze plus a Runner-Up. Standout winners include "One Last Wish" by Simon Valentine, Edmond Yang, Alex Holm, Erlend Loe, and Reimagine AS (Narrative Gold), Henry Daubrez's "KITSUNE 🦊 💫" (Narrative Silver), and Jeff Synthesized's "Newton's Cradle" (Narrative Bronze). In Music Video, "What Do I Know" by Artist Artcha ft Ty (directed by Afro Futcha) won Gold. The Marketing & Advertisement category saw Tim Gibson's "ROAR by Cleo" (Immortal Influence) take Gold, with Jared Cotton's "Unmatched" and Ben Deka's "Nike - VS GODS Minotaur" placing Silver and Bronze respectively. Brand work being treated on equal footing with narrative is the structural shift that matters most.
Open Format Gold went to Bardia Shahrestani & Frederick Pelletier-Goulet's "DO NOT DISTURB THE SANE MAN", with Junie Lau (an AIFF 2024 alum) taking Silver for "LOVE FROM VOID". The Behind-The-Scenes category continued from Season 1 with Lynn Tsai's "Making Claymation with AI" taking Gold - a direct signal that workflow transparency is being rewarded as much as final film output.
The Season 2 awards livestream took place February 14, 2025. Season 3 was announced for late 2025 with a planned hybrid Las Vegas final, but as of the latest Civitai update Season 3 is paused.
